The On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest wrapped up its 14th edition this weekend, drawing a large group of filmmakers, musicians, and attendees from around Memphis and around the globe.
Festival participants representing the United States, Canada, Lithuania, Germany, India, Mexico and a host of other countries were on hand throughout the weekend, giving international flavor to Malco Studio on the Square, downtown’s Purple Haze, and all of Midtown Memphis for the four-day event.
“This was easily one of our best festivals ever,” said On Location President Lisa Bobal. “The quality of film and music submitted, along with the hard work of filmmakers, musicians, volunteers, and panelists, plus the substantial support of our sponsors, is testament to how many people have a vested interest in the arts of film and music. We are very proud to be a part of the creative community and to represent Memphis at the same time.”
Prizes went to Alex Dreaming for Best Feature, My Father and The Man In Black for Best Documentary, Just Grate for Best Live-Action Short, and Olga’s It Is What It Is for best Music Video. Each winner received a miniature Airstream trailer as a trophy, a prize that has become one of the most coveted on the festival circuit.
