Memphis Music Banq (MMB) Mixers are designed to bring the Tennessee-based film & music communities together in a relaxed, fun environment. Each year, there are 2 types of Mixers hosted by OL:M – the Competition and the Making of Film Mixer. At all MMB Mixers, filmmakers in need of music for their upcoming projects may submit their need requests for that evening’s Announcement Board.
MMB Making of Film Mixer
Fully-focused on the cast & crew. We screen a short film, where afterwards, the filmmaker, cast and music supervisors are present to discuss the ins and outs of making the featured film.
MMB Mixer Competition
This contest between MMB Music Producers features a filmmaker who provides four 60-90 seconds video clips for2-3 competitors to synch original music to. The contest is split into three rounds, with one bonus round where judges and audience members rate each producer’s synced clips based on:
1.) Music Quality
2.) Audio/Video Synch Quality
3.) Impact of music on clip
On Location: Memphis creates economic drivers for the film, music & arts community, teaching entertainment business through real-life application.
