On Location: MEMPHIS is now open for submissions! Local filmmakers and filmmakers from all around the world are encouraged to submit their features, documentaries, live action shorts, animation, and music videos to 14th annual international film and music festival which will be held in Memphis, Tennessee, April 25-27, 2013.

The 14th annual festival will open on Thursday, April 25 at the beautiful Malco Paradiso Theater. Malco’s newly-refurbished, state of the art Ridgeway 4 theatre will be the site for Friday and Saturday festival film programs. On Location: MEMPHIS will have exclusive use of the Ridgeway Four on those days and the festival will include industry workshops and other special events on site – including our trademark Airstream trailer green room! Our Music Showcases which highlight up and coming musicians from Memphis and around the world will be held on Friday and Saturday night on world famous Beale Street. Now in its 14th year, the ON LOCATION: MEMPHIS is a competitive multi-day festival that features a diverse mix of local and global films and music. Awards given in 5 categories: Live Action Short, Feature, Music Video, Documentary & Animated Short. Previous attendees include Morgan Freeman, Alan Bloomquist, Holly Hunter, Ed Solomon, Isaac Hayes, Richard Gladstein, Leo Fitzpatrick, Cybill Shepherd, Del Shores, Don Hertzfeld, Leslie Jordan, Tom Berenger, Jaime Camil, Robert Townsend, Vivica Fox, and Ira Sachs.
The mission of On Location: MEMPHIS is to advance, educate and inspire filmmakers, musicians students, and professionals; to connect the regional audience to the work of local and global filmmakers and musicians; and to collaborate with other organizations to strengthen the film and music community and the economic development of Memphis. We are an all volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization who survives on sponsorships, donations and grants.
