Watch the 2014 Oscar Nominated Short Films!

The On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest will host screenings of the prestigious Oscar-nominated short films in advance of the Academy Awards for the sixth time. This year the event will also be sponsored by The Film and Video Concentration, Department of Communication, University of Memphis. The result is a chance for movie-lovers to witness all of the wonderful, yet often obscure films nominated for the popular shorts categories in advance of the 86th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2nd.

Oscar Shorts – Live Action

Taking place at the Malco Ridgeway Cinema Grill in East Memphis, the Oscar-nominated live-action shorts will screen on Thursday, February 13th at 7:30 pm. This year’s Best Short Film, Live Action Nominees are: Helium, The Voorman Problem, Avant Que De Tout Perde/Just Before Losing Everything, Aquel No Era Yo/ That Wasn’t Me, and Do I Have to Take Care of Everything.

Oscar Shorts – Animation

Taking place at the Malco Ridgeway Cinema Grill in East Memphis, the Oscar-nominated Animated shorts will screen on Thursday, February 27th  at 7 pm. Films nominated this year are: Get a Horse!, Mr. Hublot, Feral, Possessions, Room on the Broom.

Oscar Shorts – Documentary

Taking place at the Malco Ridgeway Cinema Grill in East Memphis, the Oscar-nominated Documentary shorts will screen on Thursday, February 27th  at 9 pm. The contestants for Best Documentary Short are made up of: The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life, Karama Has No Walls, Facing Fear, Cave Digger, and Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall.
